It was a Happy Thanksgiving!!
It was my pleasure, as well as my husband, and two friends to be fortunate enough to serve Thanksgiving dinner at the City Mission last month. It was a very rewarding experience and the recipients were most grateful. In total, 3600 sit down meals were served. I will certainly volunteer again next year!
One of the long standing volunteers conveyed to us that this is a very busy time of year, with Christmas approaching so quickly. There is a need, not so much the serving of Christmas dinner, but the preparation two weeks prior to Christmas day. The Mission would appreciate any helping hands, even for an hour or two a day to help prepare.
